<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />August 23, 1905 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />At a meeting of the Council held at Romdeune’s Drug Store, the following were present: <br /> <br />Present: A.H. Nickerson, Pres.; Justus deBooy and J.H. Romdeune, Trustees; H.C. Hastings, <br />Village Recorder. <br /> <br />A bill from Dr. Jordan was presented for attendance upon Mrs. Chandler, a poor person, and <br />on motion it was voted to lay the same on the table, and the Recorder was instructed to notify <br />Dr. Jordan that the Council cannot allow the bill as made out and cannot allow for any aid, only as it <br />is ordered by the Council. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed: <br /> <br />Chas. S. Wheaton, legal services, $29.35 <br />Standard Oil Co., gasoline, $3.60 <br />Luther Davis, sidewalk, $3.50 <br />A.H. Nickerson, Iowa Board of Review, $6.00 <br />H.C. Hastings, Iowa Board of Review, $4.00 <br />Geo. Youso, street work, $5.50 <br />John Belair, street work, $3.25 <br />John Bether, fire engine, $1.00 <br />Mills Boys, streets and sidewalk, $9.50 <br /> <br />The following resolution was adopted: <br /> <br />Resolved that the sum of $500 for Village revenue by tax for the current year and that the Recorder <br />notify the county auditor of this levy. <br /> <br />On motion adjourned. <br /> <br />H.C.
