<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />May 8, 1905 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />At a special meeting of the Common Council held at Romdeune’s Drug Store, the following-named <br />were present: <br /> <br />Present: A.H. Nickerson, Pres.; Justus deBooy, H.B. Nickerson and J.H. Romdeune, Trustees; <br />H.C. Hastings, Village Recorder. <br /> <br />W.B. Eaton through President Nickerson tendered his resignation. <br /> <br />On motion of J.H. Romdeune and seconded by H.B. Nickerson, it was voted to accept Mr. Eaton’s <br />resignation to take effect at once. <br /> <br />Mr. A.H. Nickerson made the following proposition to the Council, viz.: that the people living out <br />on the Burnes road via Fred and Chet Nickerson would expend the sum of fifty (50) dollars on the <br />said road in the town of Elk River if the Village of Elk River will donate the same amt. for this <br />purpose, and on motion it was voted to accept of \[sic\] the proposition. <br /> <br />On motion it was voted that the Village pay one-third and the property owners pay two-thirds of the <br />expense of cement sidewalk. <br /> <br />Communication from the State Auditors acknowledging the receipt for the Village application for <br />loan for the proposed bridge was presented \[illegible\]. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed: <br /> <br />W.B. Eaton, lighting street lamps, $21.50 <br />Standard Oil Co., gasoline, $6.00 <br />Justus deBooy, \[no detail given\], $6.25 <br />Elk River Lumber Co., lumber, $2.35 <br />Davis Bros., pails, etc., $4.11 <br /> <br />On motion adjourned. <br /> <br />H.C.
