<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 30, 1904 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Common Council met at J.H. Romdeune’s drugstore. <br /> <br />Present: A.H. Nickerson, Pres.; J. DeBooy, H.B. Nickerson and J.H. Romdeune, Trustees; <br />W.F. Chadbourne, Village Recorder. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by President. <br /> <br />The bond of M.C. Blanchett to sell liquor was presented and accepted. On motion application of <br />said M.C. Blanchett to sell liquor in the village of Elk River as described in application was accepted <br />and granted on the payment of $1500.00 to the Village Treasurer, subject to all ordinances pertaining <br />thereto. <br /> <br />The application of W.H. Thorp for license to operate a billiard table was taken up again, and on <br />motion it was decided not to grant same for good and sufficient reasons. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed and orders drawn for their respective <br />amts.: <br /> <br />Geo. Goodin, testing fire engine $1.50 <br />E.A. Taylor, wood for engine room 2.00 <br />J.W. Featherstone, printing and stationery 5.42 <br />W.B. Eaton, lighting st. lamps \[for\] Jan. 1904 20.00 <br /> $28.92 <br /> <br />The bill of Geo. Youso for labor on fire engine at night of wreck of N.P., amt. $5.00, was presented <br />and on motion laid on the table, waiting for further information from said Geo. Youso. <br /> <br />Board instructed Recorder to remove his desk and furniture from old office to the Engine House <br />for the present and have rent of same. <br /> <br />Board adjourned subject to call of President. <br /> <br />W.F.
