<br />Filed January 12, 1904: Treasurer’s rec’t for $16.07, being from township revenue tax. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />Minutes of Village Election <br />January 12, 1904 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />At the annual election of the village of Elk River in the County of Sherburne, State of Minn., held in <br />Recorder’s office as appointed by common council, after giving due notice thereof provided by law, <br />rd <br />on the 23 day of Dec. 1903. <br /> <br />N.D. Trumbull and E.W. Johnson, two qualified voters of said village who had within 20 days of <br />said election been appointed as judges of said election, and being present with Recorder as clerk of <br />election, at the hour of one o’clock P.M. each of them took an oath to faithfully perform the duties <br />required of them at such election, and being qualified forthwith proceeded to open the polls by <br />proclamation. And the election proceeded by ballot without interruption until closed. <br /> <br />The subjects voted on at said election were to elect: one President, three Trustees, one Recorder, <br />one Treasurer, one Justice of the Peace, and one Constable. <br /> <br />At four o’clock on said afternoon, the polls were closed, proclamation of such closing having been <br />given ten minutes before. <br /> <br />The Judges then proceeded to publicly count and canvass the votes cast, and the following result <br />was publicly proclaimed by one of the Judges. <br /> <br />Statement of Result of Canvass <br /> <br />The following is a true statement of the result of the counting and canvass by ballot at the said <br />annual village election of the village of Elk River in the County of Sherburne and the State of <br />th <br />Minnesota held Jan. 12, 1904. <br /> <br />A.H. Nickerson rec’d 93 votes for President and was declared elected. <br /> <br />J. DeBooy rec’d 93 votes for Trustee and was declared elected. <br />J.H. Romdeune rec’d 93 votes for Trustee and was declared elected. <br /> <br />Harry Nickerson rec’d 68 votes for Trustee. <br />James McBride rec’d 19 votes for Trustee. <br /> Nickerson was declared elected. <br /> <br />
