Davis, <br />Justice of the Peace. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 20, 1904 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Common Council met in Recorder’s office. <br /> <br />Present: A.H. Nickerson, Pres.; J. DeBooy, H.B. Nickerson and J.H. Romdeune, Trustees; <br />W.F. Chadbourne, Village Recorder. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by President. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed and orders drawn for their respective <br />amounts: <br /> <br />W.E.L. Crozier, gasoline oil for street lamps up to and including bill of Jan. 14, $18.20 <br />Geo. Goodin, testing engine, $1.50 <br /> <br />The bill of John Arrell for labor at fire at Northern Pacific wreck, amt. $2.50, was presented and on <br />motion laid on the table. <br /> <br />The Recorder was instructed to notify the Waterous Engine Works that the main casting on fire <br />engine purchased of said firm was cracked in four places owing to faulty construction and ask them <br />to replace same immediately. <br /> <br />M.C. Blanchett presented application for license to sell liquor at N.E. corner room on ground floor <br />of Hotel Blanchett situated on Lot 111 Block 131 in said village of Elk River. Application ordered <br />published in Star News granting said M.C. Blanchett a hearing Jan. 30, 1904. <br /> <br />W.H. Thorp made application for license to operate a billiard or pool table at his place of business. <br />On motion said application was laid on the table. <br /> <br />The official bond of E.H. Davis, Justice of the Peace, was presented and accepted. <br /> <br />The official bond of W.F.
