<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />Minutes of Village Election <br />January 14, 1902 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />At the annual Election of the Village of Elk River in the County of Sherburne and State of <br />Minnesota, held at Houlton Hall as appointed by Village Council, after giving due notice thereof as <br />provided by law, on the 14th day of January 1902. <br /> <br />W.F. Chadbourne and L.G. Davis, two qualified voters of said Village who had within twenty days <br />before said Election been appointed as Judges of such Election, and being present with the <br />Recorder as Clerk of Election at the hour of one o’clock P.M.; each of them took and subscribed an <br />oath to faithfully discharge the duties required of them at such election, and being qualified <br />forthwith opened the polls by proclaiming and the election proceeded by ballot without <br />adjournment until closed. <br /> <br />The subjects voted on at the election were to select: one President, three Trustees, one Treasurer, <br />one Recorder, one Justice of the Peace, and one Constable. <br /> <br />At 4 o’clock P.M., the polls were closed after proclamation thereof by one of the Judges of Election <br />10 minutes previous thereto. <br /> <br />The Judges then publicly counted the ballots and canvassed the vote, and a true statement thereof <br />was proclaimed by one of the Judges. <br /> <br />Statement of Result of Canvass <br /> <br />Following is a true statement of the result of the canvass of the Election as proclaimed: <br /> <br />C.J. Scoboria received 71 votes for Pres. <br />A.N. Dare received 64 votes for Pres. <br /> C.J. Scoboria was declared elected President. <br /> <br />Perry Clute recd. 69 toes for Trustee. <br />N.K. Whitteman recd. 64 votes for Trustee. <br />A.A. Opitz recd. 69 votes for Trustee. <br />Albert Bailey recd. 66 votes for Trustee. <br />J.E. McBride recd. 69 votes for Trustee. <br />Henry Castle recd. 65 votes for Trustee. <br /> Perry Clute, A.A. Opitz and J.E. McBride were declared elected Trustees. <br /> <br />H.E. Castle recd. 69 votes for Treasurer. <br />Andrew Davis recd. 66 votes for Treasurer. <br /> H.E. Castle was declared elected Treasurer. <br /> <br /> <br />
