<br />Filed April 3, 1900: Official bond of Andrew Davis as Village Treasurer. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />May 1, 1900 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Special meeting of Council this evening at 7 P.M. <br /> <br />Present: H.C. Hastings, President; Henry Castle, J.S. Guerney, J.H. Romdeune; R.E. Dare, <br />Village Recorder. <br /> <br />On motion the following committees were made permanent for the balance of term: <br /> <br />Ferry: Hastings, Guerney, Castle <br />Bridge: Guerney, Romdeune <br />Watch House: Romdeune <br />Sidewalks: Guerney, Dare <br />Street Lamps: Dare, Hastings <br />Roads: Hastings, Guerney, Dare <br />Poor: Castle, Romdeune <br /> <br />On recommendation of the ferry committee, the Council gave its consent to the transfer of ferry <br />from Guimont to Vasser. <br /> <br />The following was adopted: <br /> <br />Resolved that a portion of Princeton Street lying between Block 2 and Block 3 of the Village of Elk <br />River be set apart as a public square or park, the same to be fenced, seeded and otherwise improved <br />under the direction of the committee on streets, but the expense of such work to be paid by public <br />contribution. A street 75 ft. wide shall be left open alongside of Block 2, and a street 24 ft. wide <br />alongside of Block 3. <br /> <br />The Recorder was ordered to draw order for $14.00 favor \[sic\] Harry Babcock for lighting street <br />lamps, and one for $40 favor \[sic\] Robt. Grant \[for\] Marshal’s salary. <br /> <br />The following bills were allowed and orders ordered drawn for the amounts: <br /> <br />Perry Clute, $3.75 <br />Babcock & Sons, $17.10 <br />W.F. Chadbourne, $40.35 <br />Hebner Davis, 2 bills, $23.11 <br />W.H. Houlton 7 Do., $33.52 <br /> <br /> <br />
