<br />Filed March 6, 1900: Treasurer receipt for $3.00 show license X X on the X. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />March 13, 1900 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Village Council met and was called to order by President Hastings at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Present: H.C. Hastings, President; Henry Castle, J.S. Guerney, J.H. Romdeune; R.E. Dare, <br />Village Recorder. <br /> <br />The following bills were allowed and warrant order drawn: <br /> <br />Houlton & Co., $10.70 lumber <br /> <br />Dr. Scoboria $7.50 \[for\] relief \[of\] <br />Babcock & Sons 26.58 Henry Susie <br /> 34.08 <br /> <br />The Recorder was instructed to present a claim to Town Board for $34.08 , the amt. paid for relief <br />of Henry Susie, as he has turned out to be a town charge. <br /> <br />On motion the following were appointed as a Board of Health <br /> <br />Dr. N.K. Whitteman, chairman for 3 yrs. <br />H.D. Mills, 2 yrs. <br />A. Davis, 1 yr. <br /> <br />and that they were to receive compensation for actual services rendered. <br /> <br />On motion it was decided to rent the Babcock building at $3.00 per month from Jan. 1, 1900, the <br />same to be used as a Watch House, and Mr. Romdeune be a committee of one to see that it is put in <br />the proper condition. <br /> <br />On motion the last Tuesday of each month was designated as the regular meeting night of the <br />Village Council. <br /> <br />On motion Mr. Hastings was appointed to prepare an Ordinance to provide for the care of the <br />poor. <br /> <br />No further business appearing, we adjourned till the next regular meeting. <br /> <br />R.E.
