Dare, Village <br />Rec. <br /> <br />Filed February 1, 1900: Receipt from Treasurer for $6.00 show license. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />February 1, 1900 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Council was called to order by President Hastings at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Present: H.C. Hastings, President; Henry Castle, J.H. Romdeune; R.E. Dare, Village <br />Recorder. <br /> <br />Motion made the bond of the Treasurer be fixed at $3,000.00. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed: <br /> <br />Harry Babcock, light st. lamps, $15.00 <br />A.N. Dare, pub. license notices, $7.65 <br /> <br />The Recorder was instructed to make order for Marshal’s salary of $40.00 when due. <br /> <br />Motion made that the Recorder bond be accepted; carried. <br /> <br />Motion made that V.B. Rubeck be granted a license to sell intoxicating liquors. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Rhomdeune, Hastings, Dare. <br />Nays: Castle. <br /> <br />Motion made that V.B. Rubeck’s bond be accepted. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Recorder was instructed to notify the saloon proprietors that dice and card playing slot machines <br />and all forms of gambling were prohibited and that minors must not be allowed in or about the <br />place. <br /> <br />Adjourned till Tuesday, February 13, at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />R.E.
