<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />Minutes of Village Election <br />January 10, 1899 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />At the annual Village Election of the Village of Elk River in the County of Sherburne and State of <br />Minnesota, held at Houlton Hall, being the place where it was directed to be held by the Village <br />th <br />Council after giving due notice thereof as provided by law, on the 10 day of January 1899. <br /> <br />H.D. Mills, one of the qualified voters of said Village who had within 20 days before said time been <br />designated and appointed by the Village Council to act as Judge of said Election, and N.D. <br />Trumbull, who was elected by acclamation, who being present with the Recorder at the hour of one <br />o’clock P.M.; each of them duly took and subscribed an oath to perform faithfully \[duties\] required <br />of them at such election. <br /> <br />And the said Judges and Clerks being duly qualified forthwith opened the polls by proclamation and <br />the election proceeded by ballot without adjournment or intermission until closed. <br /> <br />The subjects voted on at such election as stated in the notice thereof were to elect: one Constable, <br />three Trustees, one Recorder, one Treasurer, one President of the Council, one Justice of the Peace. <br /> <br />At 4 o’clock P.M. the polls were closed, proclamation thereof having been made by one of the <br />Judges 30 minutes previous thereto. <br /> <br />The Judges then proceeded to count and canvass the vote, and continued without intermission until <br />complete and result declared. <br /> <br />Statement of Result of Canvass <br /> <br />The following is a true statement of the counting and canvass of votes by ballot at the annual Village <br />Election of the Village of Elk River, County of Sherburne and State of Minnesota, held Jan. 10, <br />1899, as proclaimed to the voters by one of the Judges of Election. <br /> <br />H.C.
