l�J <br /> Elk River <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> ERMU Commission Mike Tietz—Technical Services Superintendent <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> May 9, 2017 6.l d <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> None <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • In April, The Locating department had a total of 515 locate tickets consisting of seven <br /> emergency tickets, 15 cancellations, 27 meetings, 421 normal tickets and 32 updated <br /> tickets. <br /> • Electric Technicians continue with the meter reading, power bill, substation checks, <br /> hanging red-tags, meter read-outs, dealing with meter and off-peak issues, as well as <br /> delivering and installing new meters to commercial customers. They continue to change <br /> out the three phase meters with meters that will be read by radio ERT. Working on meter <br /> changes outs for Area 2 and meter audits from areas already acquired. <br /> • The new Field Collection System software has been operational with very positive <br /> feedback from the metering staff <br /> • The power plant staff did the monthly engine run in April. All engines with the exception <br /> of engine 4 ran well. We have received an estimate from Utilities Plus Energy Services <br /> for the repair of engine 4 which was determined to have a faulty controller. <br /> • Mapping department continues to enter GPS points and attribute points for all of our <br /> systems assets within the ESRI ArcView GIS system. Five intersections of MnDOT <br /> signal lights have been added to the map to aid with the locating of these facilities. <br /> Upgraded water mapping software to sync with InfraMap and created hydrant leak <br /> detection route map for Water department. <br /> • MV90 software and hardware is up and running and the metering technicians are <br /> becoming proficient with the software.
