<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />June 20, 1898 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Village Council met at courthouse June 20, 1898, at 8 o’clock. <br /> <br />Present: H.C. Hastings, Pres.; F.P. Brown, Harry Mills, Trustees: C. M. Babcock, Rec. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed: <br /> <br />C.W. Hayden, repairing sidewalks, $17.50 <br />Ole Sundby, work on ferry, $1.75 <br />Walter S. Booth & Sons, stationery, $4.00 <br />W.H. Houlton & Co., lumber, etc., $146.21 <br />Perry Clute, layering, filing, $5.50 <br />H.S. Nutting Fire Extinguishing Co., $89.00 <br /> <br />On motion Recorder was instructed to draw an order payable to W.N. Higgins for the amt. of <br />$100.00, the same being for money advanced on grading on Main Street. <br /> <br />The following were appointed as members of the Board of Health: Dr. Whittenour to fill vacancy of <br />Dr. Scoboria resigned, and H.D. Mills to fill vacancy of the expired term of W.B Eaton. <br /> <br />On motion W.F.
