<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />October 29, 1897 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The Village Council met at the Recorder’s Office on Friday evening, October 29, 1897. <br /> <br />Present: H.C. Hastings, Pres.; F.P. Brown; L. Pollard; W.F. Chadbourne, Rec. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order at 8 o’clock by Pres. <br /> <br />Mr. S.S. Trask having finished his contract for putting in tubing, and stating that he had put in 364 <br />feet instead of 300 as contract called for, and thereby making a better job of it, asked that the <br />Council grant him $25.00 extra for doing same. After considering the matter, the Council decided to <br />grant said S.S. Trask $17.00 extra and on motion an order was drawn on Treas. for $135.00 to S.S. <br />Trask in full of all demands for putting in tubing., the original contract being $118.00. Order 543. <br /> <br />On motion it was decided to dispense with the services of Vill. Marshal after Nov. 10, 1897, until <br />further orders from Council. <br /> <br />No further business appearing, adjourned. <br /> <br />W.F. Chadbourne <br />Vill. Rec. <br />
