Babcock & Sons, $14.00 <br /> <br />Filed January 1, 1896: Bill of Fred Stimson, $1.50 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 13, 1896 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Common Council met at Recorder’s office at 7:00 o’clock P.M. <br /> <br />Present: Chas S. Wheaton, President; Fred Hildreth and Frank Lewis, Trustees; Andrew <br />Davis, Recorder. <br /> <br />The purpose of this meeting being to close the business for the year 1895. <br /> <br />The council then proceeded to compare all orders issued during the past year and, finding them all <br />correct, the same were canceled. <br /> <br />The report of the Treasurer for the year 1895 was presented and, being found correct, was on <br />motion accepted, approved and ordered filed. <br /> <br />The report of the Board of Auditors prepared by the Recorder was presented, showing the <br />disbursements of the Village from Jan. 1, 1895, to Jan. 13, 1896, and the assets and liabilities of said <br />Village on said last-named date. On motion the same was accepted, approved and ordered filed with <br />the Recorder for record. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed: <br /> <br />W.H. Houlton & Co., lumber office account, etc., $72.18 <br />W.L. Babcock & Sons, street lamps, $14.60 <br />Fred Stimson, road work, $1.50 <br />Andrew Davis, Recorder salary, $35.00 <br /> <br />The following resolution was presented and on motion adopted: <br /> <br />Resolved that the sum of ($28.75) Twenty-Eight and 75/100 Dollars be appropriated in payment of <br />the share of the Village of Elk River for maintaining a free ferry across the Mississippi River (known <br />as the lower ferry) for the month and four days ending Oct. 26, 1895. Order payable to J.G. Gray. <br /> <br /> <br />
