Dare, $3.30 for publishing notice of application for liquor <br />license <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />April 18, 1895 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Common Council met in Extra Session at Chas. S. Wheaton’s office. <br /> <br />Present: Chas. S. Wheaton, President; J.F. Lewis, A. Bailey and Fred Hildreth, Trustees; <br />Andrew Davis, Recorder <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:00 o’clock p.m. by Chas. S. Wheaton. <br /> <br />A committee composed of W.H. Laplant, J.G. Gray and Mr. Robins of the town of Otsego were <br />present and asked the cooperation of the Village of Elk River in making the ferry (known as the <br />lower ferry) free to the towns of Otsego, Elk River and Frankfort. On motion twenty-five dollars <br />($25.00) was allowed the above committee per mo. for the terms of 6 mo. to expire Nov. 1, 1895, <br />for the purpose of making the said ferry free to said towns. Said $25 to be paid to said committee at <br />the end of each mo. commencing April 22, 1895. Ordinance No. 37 was read by the President and <br />after some debate was passed by the following votes: <br /> <br />Ayes: Chas S. Wheaton, J.F. Lewis, Fred Hildreth, Albert Bailey and Andrew Davis <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />On motion Fred Stimson was appointed overseer of highways. <br /> <br />On motion $3.00 was stipulated as wages for overseer and team. <br /> <br />On motion meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />Andrew Davis <br />Recorder <br /> <br /> <br />
