<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />Minutes of the Proceedings of the Chapter Election <br />Held at Music Hall in the Village of Elk River <br />On Tuesday, January 8, 1895 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />D.R. Houlton and J.F. Lewis being present as Judges of Election, each took the oath required by <br />law. <br /> <br />E.E. Bryant, Village Recorder, was sworn to act as Clerk of said election. <br /> <br />Proclamation of the opening of the polls was made by D.R. Houlton, one of the Judges, at one <br />o’clock p.m. <br /> <br />At four o’clock the polls were closed by proclamation. <br /> <br />The Judges then proceeded to canvass the votes, and the persons having the greatest number of <br />votes for the respective offices were declared elected. <br /> <br />The following is a correct statement of the canvass of votes by ballot for the election of officers as <br />publicly canvassed by the Judges. viz.: <br /> <br />Chas S. Wheaton received 46 votes for President, and was declared elected. <br />A. Bailey received 46 votes for Trustee. <br />J.F. Lewis received 46 votes for Trustee. <br />F.W. Hildreth received 46 votes for Trustee. <br />A. Bailey, J.F. Lewis and F.W. Hildreth were declared elected Trustees. <br />Andrew Davis received 46 votes for Recorder and was declared elected. <br />Henry Castle received 45 votes for Treasurer and was declared elected. <br />J.H.
