<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 27, 1894 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Council met at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Present: D.R. Houlton, President; Andrew Davis; J.F. Lewis; E.E. Bryant, Recorder. <br /> <br /> <br />Each member had taken the oath according to law. <br /> <br />The minutes of the meetings of Dec. 30, 1893, and of the Chapter Election January 9, 1894, were <br />read and approved. <br /> <br />The followings bills were in motion allowed: <br /> <br />E.H. Davis, judge at Chapter Election, $2.00 <br />Perry Clute, work on bridge, $3.00 <br /> <br />On motion W.F. Chadbourne was elected to succeed himself as a member of the Board of Health. <br /> <br />On motion John Hayward was appointed Poundmaster for the ensuing year. <br /> <br />On motion the Recorder was instructed to prepare a statement showing the amount of receipts and <br />disbursements of the village for the year 1893, with balance on hand at the close of the year, and <br />have the source published one time in the Sherburne County Star News. <br /> <br />The President appointed the following committees: <br /> <br />Bridges and Streets: Hildreth and Lewis <br />Sidewalks: Davis and Bryant <br />General Improvements, such as Town Roads, Ferry, Street Lamps, etc.: Davis, Lewis, Hildreth <br /> <br />On motion it was voted to hold the regular meetings of the Council at the Sheriff’s Office at <br />courthouse in the last Monday morning of each month. <br /> <br />On motion adjourned. <br /> <br />E.E.
