<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 09 1894 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Minutes of the Proceedings of the ----- <br />Election held at Music Hall in the village of Elk River, on Tuesday, January 9, 1894 <br /> <br />D.R. Houlton being the only regular judge of election present, E.H. Davis was appointed ----act as <br />one of the judges. Each took the oath required by law. <br />E.E. Bryant, village recorder, was Sworn to act as ----of such election. <br />Proclamation of the opening of the ---- was made by D.R. Houlton, one of the Judges at one o’clock <br />the polls were closed by proclamation. <br /> <br />The Judges then proceeded to canvass the votes, and the persons having the greatest number of <br />votes for the respective offices were declared elected. <br /> <br />The following is a correct statement of the canvass of votes by ballot for the election of officers as <br />publicly canvassed by the Judges,org: <br />D.R. Houlton received 26 votes for President , and was declared elected. <br />J.F. Lewis, Andrew Davis and Fred W.Hildreth were declared ----- Trustees <br />E.E. Bryant received 26 votes for Record and was declared elected. <br />Henry Castle received 26 votes for Treasurer and was declared elected. <br />Jos.N.
