<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />April 30, 1892 <br /> <br />Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Present: C.S. Wheaton, D.R. Houlton, L. F. Lewis, E.E. Bryant <br /> <br />The President was authorized to purchase such tiling as may be necessary for use of the village the <br />ensuing year. <br /> <br />An ordinance to construct a sidewalk along Fifth Street was presented and on motion adopted as <br />Ordinance No. 36, and ordered published by the following vote: Ayes – Wheaton, Houlton, Lewis <br />and Bryant; Nors – none. <br /> <br />On motion the President was authorized to appoint a sidewalk and street committee of three, of <br />which he shall be chairman, who shalla be authorized to make such repairs and improvements as in <br />their judgment may be necessary for the ensuing year. <br /> <br />The following were appointed: Chas. S.Wheaton, Chairman; D.R. Houlton, J. F. Lewis. <br /> <br />A standing committee on roads was appointed by the President as follows: D.R. Houlton, J.F. <br />Lewis and N.K. Whittman. <br /> <br />On motion John Hayward was appointed Poundmaster and the pound located on his premises. <br /> <br />Adjourned this May 4, 8 p.m. <br /> <br />Attest: E.E.
