<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />June 29, 1891 <br /> <br />Council met in special session at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Present: CS. Wheaton, N.K. Whittman, D.R. Houlton, D.H. Shaw, E.E. Bryant <br /> <br />D.R. Houlton, a committee appointed at the last meeting to look up the matter of a road grader, <br />reported that he had arranged with a firm dealing in these machines to ship a grader to Elk River for <br />trial. <br /> <br />An ordinance was presented by Mr. W.H. Houlton for the adoption by the Council granting the <br />right of way for the building of a \[transfer} track across certain streets in the Village of Elk River. <br />On motion, laid over. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion, allowed: <br /> A.N. Dan, painting $ 1.75 <br /> Perry Clute, work on streets $22.53 <br /> <br />The bill of E.T. Abbott for establishing grade was allowed at$100.00 as per contract and the <br />Recorder was authorized to draw an order payable to himself and purchase draft with same for this <br />amount and mail to Mr. Abbott. <br /> <br />On motion, adjourned to July 13. <br /> <br />Attest: E.E.
