<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />November 29, 1890 <br /> <br />Council met at Recorder’s Office at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Present: D.R. Houlton, Wm. Cory, K.H. Burrell, E.E. Bryant <br /> <br /> Motion made that the rate of village taxation for the year 1891 be two mills of each dollar of <br />valuation. Ayes: Haulton, Cory, Burrell, Bryant; Nays: none. <br /> <br /> The following bills were presented and on motion allowed: <br /> Al Tourtillatt – work on streets with team $ 6.00 <br /> T.J.Latta – putting up guide board, work <br /> On streets, etc. $12.75 <br /> S.A. McNeal – labor, etc as overseer of highways $33.50 <br /> <br /> The following statement of L.O. Hare of ferry business for 1890 was presented showing the <br />Village indebted to Mr. Hare in the sum of $111.55: <br /> (br) by 24 days labor @ $2.00 $428.00 <br /> Dr. <br /> <br /> <br />Attest: E.E.
