E04y1� ,.,�� Request for Action <br /> River <br /> To Item Number <br /> Mayor and City Council 4.13 <br /> Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br /> Consent Aril 17, 2017 Tim Sevcik, Parks Maintenance Superintendent <br /> Item Description Reviewed by <br /> Athletic Field Improvements—Youth Athletic Michael Hecker,Parks and Recreation Director <br /> Complex and Oak Knoll Athletic Complex Reviewed by <br /> Scoreboards Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> Action Requested <br /> Approve,by motion, the purchase of one Daktronics football scoreboard for the Oak Knoll Athletic <br /> Complex and six Daktronics multi-sport scoreboards for the Youth Athletic Complex. <br /> Background/Discussion <br /> Within the Parks Improvement Fund, $100,000 was allocated for athletic field improvements to include <br /> the purchase and installation of six scoreboards for the Youth Athletic Complex and one scoreboard for <br /> the Oak Knoll Athletic Complex football field. <br /> After reviewing scoreboard options and working with the youth athletic organizations, staff recommends <br /> purchase and installation of six multi-sport scoreboards for the Youth Athletic Complex with the primary <br /> function of scoring for baseball and softball games but with the capability of scoring and timing for other <br /> sports. At the Oak Knoll Athletic Complex staff recommends purchase and installation of a football <br /> scoreboard which will serve football,lacrosse and soccer. <br /> Staff recommends the purchase and installation of six MS-3918-11 (LED) scoreboards for YAC and one <br /> FB-824-11 (LED) scoreboard for Oak Knoll through Aim Electronics Inc. utilizing a joint purchasing <br /> agreement for the amount of$69,675.00. Additional expenses related to this project include electrical <br /> conduit installation to be conducted by ERMU in the amount of$1,211.53 and electrical service <br /> connections to be conducted by an electrical contractor in the amount of$9,950.00. <br /> Financial Impact <br /> $80,836.53 total project cost from the Park Improvement Fund for the purchase and installation of seven <br /> scoreboards. <br /> Attachments <br /> ■ Purchase Order <br /> ■ AIM Electronics Inc.
