Klaers~1;;J.'t ~.,~~.~~;rninistrator Yt/ February 8, 1999 DATE: SUBJECT: Appointments to HRA and Northstar Corridor Development Authority At the Monday, January 11,1999, City Council meeting, Councilmember Larry Farber advised the City Council that he would be resigning as a commission member on the Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA). Due to his work schedule, Larry has difficulty in attending the 5:00 p.m. fourth Monday of the month regular HRA meetings. . The HRA discussed this situation at its January 26 meeting, and indicated a preference in having a councilmember serve on the Authority. Discussions have taken place between Councilmember Thompson and the Mayor regarding this HRA mayoral appointment. Please see the attached letter from Councilmember Thompson regarding his interest in serving on the HRA. The letter also acknowledges his heavy meeting schedule and his desire to no longer serve on the Northstar Corridor Development Authority (NCDA). It should be noted that regardless of who the City Council appoints to the NCDA , that any of the councilmembers may receive the NCDA agenda packet. This group typically meets the first Thursday of the month at the Sherburne County Government Center, at 4:30 p.m. Recommendation The City Council accept Larry Farber's resignation from the HRA. The City Council appoint Councilmember Daryl Thompson to replace Larry Farber on the HRA with his term expiring on 12/31/99.
