EOty1� ,.,�� Request for Action <br /> River <br /> To Item Number <br /> Mayor and City Council 10.4 <br /> Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br /> Work Session June 6, 2016 Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> Item Description Reviewed by <br /> Wapiti Park Campground Update <br /> Reviewed by <br /> Action Requested <br /> Receive information and discuss. <br /> Background/Discussion <br /> Following litigation with Wapiti Park Campground in which the Minnesota Supreme Court and <br /> Minnesota Court of Appeals opined on the legal, nonconforming operation of the campground, the <br /> conditional use of the main campground building, and the permanency of residents, the campground has <br /> continued to operate within the opinions of the court and have sought action to comply with city <br /> ordinance and state rules. <br /> Following a Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) licensing inspection, septic system compliance <br /> inspections found seven of their eight septic systems in need of improvements. MDH sanitation <br /> inspectors also cited state rules requiring the campground to connect to city services if available. Services <br /> are available to the property.
