ELK RIVER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
0
MEMORANDUM
TO: Economic Development Authority
FROM: Paul Steinman, Director of Economic Development
0
DATE: January 19, 2000
SUBJECT: Agenda Memo for January 24, 2000, Special Meeting
3. Accept Resignation of Executive Director—Appoint New
Executive Director
Executive Director Paul Steinman will be parting employment with
• the City of Elk.River on February 11, 2000. Given this, it is
appropriate to accept his resignation as Executive Director of the
Economic Development Authority and appoint City Administrator Pat
Klaers as the Executive Director.
4. Discuss Issues Regarding Filling the Director of Economic
Development Position
Staff recommends that after my departure the title of Acting Director
of Economic Development be given to Assistant Director of Economic
Development Marc Nevinski. In addition, staff feels it is well worth the
money and expertise to hire Jim Brimeyer to provide search services
for this position. Brimeyer's expertise can be helpful to locate
candidates in this increasingly competitive job market.
The other option for completing this rehire would be the standard
practice for city administration to advertise, select applicants, conduct
interviews, and put together a package to offer a selected candidate.
•
13065 Orono Parkway • P.
