We have reviewed a
handful of PUDs in the last few years, and staff anticipates a number of residential and commercial/
industrial PUDs in the next few years.
The PUD is a tool available to municipalities that provides a developer with flexibility from strict
application of a zoning ordinance, while receiving a higher quality product, design standards or features,
than may have otherwise been approved. PUDs not only provide flexibility in the uses, mixing high and
low density or mixed use buildings for example, but also deviations from design standards like lot size,
setbacks, or height.
Staff will discuss standards for approval of a PUD as outlined in our ordinance, past applications of the
PUD ordinance, and the spirit of the PUD land use planning tool.
Financial Impact
None
Attachments
American Planning Association Publication on PUDs
Ordinance Section 30-1564 - PUD Districts
P a w E A E U s r
NaA f RE]
