<br />Special Joint Meeting of the Elk River <br /> <br />City Council and Housing <br />and Redevelopment Authority <br />Held at Elk River City Hall <br />Monday, February 1, 2016 <br /> <br />Members Present: Mayor Dietz, Councilmembers Olsen, Burandt, Westgaard, and <br />Wagner, Chair Toth, and Commissioners Burandt, Chuba, Eder, and <br />Kuester <br /> <br />Members Absent: None <br /> <br />Staff Present: Economic Development Director Amanda Othoudt, Economic <br />Development Specialist Colleen Eddy, and City Clerk Tina Allard <br /> <br />1.Call Meeting to Order <br /> <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting was called to order at 6:07 p.m. <br /> <br />2. Presentation of the Comprehensive Housing Needs Analysis <br />Facilitated by Maxfield Research and Consulting <br /> <br /> Ms. Othoudt introduced Vice President Matt Mullins with Maxfield Research. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mullins provided an overview of Elk River’s housing needs. He discussed the <br />market, demographics, lot supply, and housing types as outlined in his presentation. <br /> <br />Councilmember Wagner questioned the type of housing stock the 55+ population <br />prefer. <br /> <br />Mr. Mullins stated it varies based upon the person’s lifestyle and when the feel they <br />need more services. <br /> <br />There was discussion by the commission about the current and future housing <br />projects in Elk River. <br /> <br />Mr. Mullins noted if the future housing development projects continue to move <br />forward, it will bring Elk River into the study’s recommended guidelines for housing <br />stock. <br /> <br />3. Adjournment <br /> <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:37 p.m. <br /> <br />___________________ <br />John J.
