of <br /> Elk <br /> Memorandum <br /> River <br /> To: Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> From: Michael Hecker,Parks and Recreation Director <br /> Date: February 10,2016 <br /> Subject: Director's Report <br /> This report is a monthly highlight of department activities related to collaboration,strategic <br /> planning, staff changes/developments,and park operations. <br /> Elk River Community Center Feasiblity Study Community Meeting <br /> Members of the community are highly encouraged to attend a meeting from 4 to 8 p.m.,Thurs., <br /> Feb.18 at City Hall to express opinions regarding community facility needs and existing <br /> community recreation facilities. <br /> The Trust for Public Land Annual Conservation Leadership Breakfast <br /> All Parks and Recreation Commission and City Council Members received an email invitation to <br /> The Trust for Public Land Annual Conservation Leadership breakfast on Wednesday,February 17. <br /> RSVPs were required by February 5. Dave Anderson will be honored at the program that is <br /> promised to be fun and fast-paced with a great speaker. <br /> Rivers Edge Commons Park Expansion Project and Concert Series <br /> Construction document preparation continues with final plan completion expected in mid-February, <br /> available to bidders by Feb. 19. Bids will be tabulated on Mar. 14 with Council approval planned for <br /> Mar. 21. A spring construction schedule is planned. The bid documents will include a deduct if the <br /> construction begins and or is completed in the fall of 2016. <br /> The concert series is scheduled for the definite dates of June 30 through August 11. Band <br /> commitments made prior to June 30 can be moved to late August depending on the construction <br /> schedule. <br /> Riverfront Concert Series 2016 <br /> The Bank of Elk River agreed to continue sponsoring the Riverfront Concerts Series with an <br /> increased sponsorship amount to $16,000.
