We are working with <br />ERMU to identify the costs associated with moving existing utility infrastructure underground. The <br />development likely won’t occur without utility relocation. <br /> <br />BUSINESS VISITS <br />Please let staff know if you are interested in participating in the upcoming BR&E Visits: <br />Preferred Powder Coating - January 20th at 11:00 a.m. <br />MoCorp, Inc. – Jan. 25, 9 a.m. <br />Distinctive Iron – Feb. 4, 10 a.m. <br />Avalon Salon – Feb. 10, 10 a.m. <br /> <br />MISCELLANEOUS <br />Sherburne County Visioning Meeting <br />The Initiative Foundation hosted the first of a series of community visioning meetings to develop and <br />implement a regional economic development plan relating to the Coal Reliant Communities program. <br />The visioning process is funded through a $20,000 grant from Xcel Energy and included ED staff, <br />administrators and township representatives from throughout the county. The estimated total cost of <br />visioning is $50,000. Sherburne County will contribute a generous amount to the remainder and the <br />cities and townships are asked to contribute. <br /> <br />Blandin Broadband Communities Program – Grant Awards <br />The City of Elk River was awarded two separate grants totaling $20,000. The Rivers Edge Commons <br />Park Public WiFi Project was awarded $10,000 and $10,000 was awarded to extend the existing fiber <br />network to ISD #728 fiber and from ISD #728 to the Zimmerman City Hall. The Zimmerman <br />connection may allow us to provide IT services to Zimmerman in the future. <br /> <br />Sweet P’s Microloan – Microloan Collection Update <br />We received a check in the amount of $1,472.10 representing payment in full for the debt owed by Sweet <br /> <br /> <br />
