Completion is expected in March. <br /> <br />Trade Shows/Conferences: <br />The following trade shows are in partnership with Sherburne County and the Minnesota Marketing <br />Partnership. <br /> <br />In November, staff attended the Information Management Network Data Center Conference in <br />California, which was attended by people from all over the world. Staff reconnected with representatives <br />from Colliers International, DC Group and Xcel Energy and built relationships with Stream Data Center, <br />SiteSpan, DCI Technologies, and Lee’s Summit. The event was an opportunity to learn first-hand about <br />new trends impacting site selector decisions and to promote the city to various organizations around the <br />country. Over 350 people attended the event which brought major exposure to city of Elk River. <br /> <br />In December, staff attended the annual Mid-America Economic Development Council Conference, an <br />annual site selector forum with over 300 economic development professionals from around the Midwest. <br />The council hosted a tour of the UI Labs and the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute. <br />DMDII is a 94,000 sf facility housing advancements in digital manufacturing, education, and workforce <br />development. The flexible infrastructure provides a national digital manufacturing demonstration site. <br />The development was created to solve large-scale industrial challenges through a consortia of university, <br />industry, and civic partners who innovate and commercialize new technology solutions. The conference <br />also included presentations on the state of manufacturing, attracting foreign direct investments, and a site <br />selector panel along with small informal roundtable discussions. <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br /> <br />Funding for trade shows and advertising are included in the 2015 budget. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />List of attendees at IMN <br /> <br />
