The permit will run for two years <br />from September 1, 2004 until August 31, 2006. <br /> <br />APPLICANT <br /> <br />Elk River Lions Club <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City's ordinance requires that 75% of the lawful purpose expenditures must be spent <br />within the City's trade area. The trade area for Elk River includes the cities of Elk River, <br />Ramsey, Otsego, Rogers, and Zimmerman. The attached chart shows that the amount of <br />expenditures spent in the trade area during the years 2002 and 2003 exceeded the required <br />75%. <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />A motion from Council adopting the attached resolution approving a premises permit for <br />the Elk River Lions Club to conduct lawful charitable gambling at Broadway Bar and Pizza. <br /> <br />S:\ Council\Joan\Gambling\ PremPermLionsClub.doc <br /> <br /> <br />
