i <br /> Elk River UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Municipal Utilities <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission Mike O'Neill—Superintendent of Technical <br /> John Dietz—Chair Services <br /> Al Nadeau—Vice-Chair <br /> Daryl Thompson-Trustee <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> August 11th, 2015 6.1d <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • The Locating department had a total of 436 locate tickets in July; four of them being <br /> emergency tickets, four cancellations, eight meetings, 378 normal tickets and 36 updated <br /> tickets. <br /> • In July,the Security Systems Department had a total of 119 phone contacts, eight systems <br /> quoted, six system sales made, seven installs completed, 36 service calls and eight personal <br /> visits. <br /> • Electric Technicians continue with the meter reading,power bill, substation checks, hanging <br /> red-tags, meter read-outs, dealing with meter and off-peak issues, as well as delivering and <br /> installing new meters to commercial customers. They continue to change out the three phase <br /> meters with meters that will be read by radio. Preparations have begun for the conversion of <br /> the new service territory. The meters have been ordered and we're working to ensure that all <br /> of the customers are in the database. <br /> • The power plant staff did the monthly engine run on July 7th. All engines ran well with no <br /> problems. <br /> • Power plant is installing new ceiling panels prior to our 100 year celebration. <br /> • Staff continues to collect data with the GPS for our ArcView maps as time permits. <br /> • Working with GRE using the eDNA system to track and analyze our historical power factor <br /> (PF)and load data that is collected on the SCADA System. <br /> • Preparing to bring a"Field Engineer"on board to handle the staking, ESRI/AutoCAD and <br /> other engineering needs. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> • Security Systems Analysis <br /> UN rOWERED 11 <br /> Page 1 of 1 NATURE <br /> Reliable Public <br /> Power Provider P O W E R E D T o S V E <br /> 193 <br />
