Elk River
Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING
TO: FROM:
Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission Mark Fuchs—Electric Superintendent
John Dietz—Chair
Al Nadeau—Vice Chair
Daryl Thompson—Trustee
MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER:
August 11, 2015 6.Ic
SUBJECT:
Staff Update
DISCUSSION:
• Had eleven new services.
• Continue working on collecting data with the GPS for our ArcView maps as time
permits.
• Continue working on changing out some of the rusty junction boxes or removing ones
that are no longer necessary.
• Continue working on changing out fuse pads. This has been an ongoing project that had
to be done due to our high fault current.
• Continue rebuilding River Ranch in Otsego. We are replacing the rear lot line overhead
with front lot line underground.
• Received the rest of the junction box lids we were waiting for. We're now working on
finishing up the replacement project.
• Finished moving the transformer off the loading dock at Vandenberg Middle School and
changed out the transformer feeding the football field with a different voltage
transformer. We also installed a primary loop to the ice arena and removed two junction
boxes.
• Finished installing a three phase loop for Central Lutheran Church and a single phase
loop for Dove Tree Apartments. We also removed a three phase junction box, moved
another, and changed out a rusty one.
• Installed the primary wire and transformer for the waste water treatment plant. We have
to hook up the secondaries when they are ready.
• Started working on the installation of a new feeder out of the Waco substation to the
court house area. As the boring machine uses more water and bentonite mix when
installing this big wire, the City Parks Department is letting us use a water tank on their
truck so we don't have to come back to the shop as often to get water.
• There is a new office building going in next to Cowboy Jacks in Otsego. We had to move
some underground primary so they could install their storm water pond.
• ktiIPage 1 of 2 RF
R eliable Public
Power Provider P 0 WE 0.E U T O S ERNE
191
