Elk River <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission Mark Fuchs—Electric Superintendent <br /> John Dietz—Chair <br /> Al Nadeau—Vice Chair <br /> Daryl Thompson—Trustee <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> June 16, 2015 6.1c <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • Had seven new services. <br /> • Continue working on collecting data with the GPS for our ArcView maps as time <br /> permits. <br /> • Continue working on changing out some of the rusty junction boxes or removing ones <br /> that are no longer necessary. <br /> • Continue rebuilding River Ranch in Otsego. We're replacing the rear lot line overhead <br /> with front lot line underground. <br /> • Continue working on replacing 96 junction box lids. Nordic Fiberglass had a problem <br /> with the lids breaking down so they gave us some new ones. <br /> • Moved an overhead primary pole at the southeast corner of Twins Lakes Road and <br /> County Road 12 for the new city trail. <br /> • Installed some primary and a transformer for a new service at Hillside Park. <br /> • Installed an underground loop for Office Max and removed a junction box and replaced <br /> one. <br /> • Replaced four street light poles and fixtures on Auburn Place. <br /> • We changed out a couple poles that were hit by vehicles; one on County Road 39 and one <br /> on School Street by Vandenberg Middle School. <br /> • Hired two apprentice lineworkers; Reid Nelson started on May 12, and Curt Wark started <br /> on May 26. The two apprentices were hired to replace Anthony Ross and Ed Zurn who <br /> left last fall. <br /> • Zac Johnson,Aaron White, Troy Adams and I attended the American Public Power <br /> Association's (APPA) Lineworkers Rodeo in Sacramento, California. Aaron competed in <br /> the rodeo and I was a judge for one of the apprentice events. I also attended the APPA <br /> Engineering and Operations Technical Conference.
