At the meeting,the Board reviewed the business plan for an Agency-owned <br /> distributed generation facility in Shakopee, Minnesota. The Board approved proceeding <br /> with development of the project. <br /> The Board approved the purchase of a 91-acre site near Buffalo that the Agency intends <br /> to use for a utility-scale solar power project. MMPA plans to issue an RFP to developers <br /> to build and operate a solar project on the site in the next two weeks. <br /> The Board was informed that MMPA's 2015 energy education program was complete. <br /> The program reached approximately 2,500 fourth grade students from 22 schools in <br /> MMPA member and power plant host communities. <br /> • The Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association held a planning session on May 27-28 in <br /> Plymouth, MN. This was followed by a business meeting to take action on items <br /> developed during the planning session. During the business meeting, the board: <br /> o Received the 2013-2014 audited financial statements, an unmodified(i.e. clean) <br /> opinion with no adjusting journal entries <br /> o Adopted an operating reserves and investment policy <br /> o Approved direction for developing a MN stray voltage guide with the coops <br /> o Approved direction for exploring the development of a managerial/soft-skills <br /> training program <br /> o Approved direction for the exploring the transition to ownership of office space <br /> o Approved direction for additional MMUA website development <br /> o Approved an expansion of the MMUA awards program <br /> • I attended the Great River Energy annual meeting on June 3 in Maple Grove, MN. <br /> Egq PXOWEOEO 01 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> NATURE <br /> /� TURE <br /> Reliable Public <br /> Power Provider P O W E R E D T O S V E <br /> 262 <br />
