We had one apprentice lineworker,Aaron <br /> White, compete at this event. The apprentice competition was comprised of five parts: <br /> Event 1: Crossarm Relocation—The apprentice will relocate a wooden arm 90 degrees from <br /> its original location. The apprentice will remove both the arm and brace bolt, <br /> rotate the arm 90 degrees either direction, and reinstall using the same hardware. <br /> Mean Time= 8 minutes <br /> Drop Dead Time= 12 minutes <br /> Event 2: Double Deadend Bell—The apprentice will change both polymer suspension <br /> insulations out on a single-phase double deadend. <br /> Mean Time=6 minutes <br /> Drop Dead Time= 8 minutes <br /> Event 3: Hurtman Rescue—An individual apprentice rescues a"hurtman"mannequin from <br /> the top of a pole. Event staff will provide groundman support. <br /> Mean Time=4 minutes <br /> Drop Dead Time= 8 minutes <br /> Event 4: Single Phase Conductor Tie In—The apprentice will remove the phase and neutral <br /> conductors from the sheaves.
