The Commission has provided guidance and input on the plan's content <br /> throughout the entire master plan process. A total of nine work sessions has been devoted to the Parks <br /> and Recreation Master Plan during the past year. The last work session has held March 18,2015. This is <br /> in addition to the work sessions that were held this past July and August to discuss signature park designs <br /> for Orono Park and Bailey Point Nature Preserve. The signature park designs are included in the master <br /> plan document. <br /> In addition to the Parks and Recreation Commission meetings, an extensive public outreach effort <br /> engaged over 850 residents and stakeholders throughout the process. This public outreach process <br /> included: <br /> • Athletic Association focus group session held on March 27,2014. <br /> • Community Open Houses on June 25, 2014 and August 20,2014. <br /> • Mailed statically valid survey distributed and collected from nearly 400 respondents during the <br /> Spring of 2014. <br /> • Online survey in the Summer of 2014 with over 300 participants responding. <br /> • A public art visioning session held on May 5, 2014. <br /> The Parks and Recreation Master Plan draft has also been sent out to City Council. They will review the <br /> document for the first time at a City Council Work Session on May 18,2015. <br /> Financial Impact <br /> Cost estimates for the major park projects referred to as vision projects are listed in the Parks and <br /> Recreation Master Plan.
