RESOLUTION 83-12 <br /> RESOLUTION DETERMINING THE ADVISABILITY OF <br /> CONTINUING THE FRANCHISING PROCESS <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is included in an approved cable service <br /> territory which includes 9 other cities in Sherburne and Wright <br /> Counties; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Elk River shall be the franchising authority for <br /> the cable system to be installed within its corporate boundaries ; <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has been informed and will continue to be in- <br /> formed about cable communications by its representatives to <br /> the Sherburne/Wright County Cable Commission; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Elk River has assessed the communication needs of <br /> the persons residing within the City of Elk River; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the summary of the needs assessments of the City of Elk River is <br /> publicly available from the City; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the needs assessments indicates certain cable communication <br /> needs of the citizens of Elk River which could be satisfied <br /> • by a cable communications system. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Elk River, City Council that <br /> it is advisable at this time to continue the franchising process <br /> through participation in the Sherburne/Wright County Cable Com- <br /> mission. <br /> Adopted this 15th day of August 1983 . <br /> Richard Hinkle, Mayor <br /> City of Elk River <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Robert C . ,ddau h City Administrator <br /> g y <br /> City of Elk River <br />
