/4..r? \,.K <br /> (Pit of ,k <br /> I k <br /> E: i River RESOLUTION 83-5 <br /> A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING ROBERT PETERMANN'S SELECTION <br /> AS POLICE OFFICER OF THE YEAR, HONORABLE MENTION <br /> WHEREAS, Robert Petermann is, and has been a Police Officer for the City of <br /> Elk River since his employment in July 1980; and, <br /> WHEREAS, During Robert Petermann's tenure as Police Officer with the City of <br /> Elk River, he has been a productive and hard working employee of the <br /> City of Elk River; and, <br /> WHEREAS, In addition to Robert Petermann's work as a Police Officer, he has <br /> also been involved in the following activities: <br /> Officer Petermann was chosen as one of the ten outstanding young <br /> Minnesotans of the year by the Minnesota State Jaycees in February <br /> of 1983 for his work in the school district and community. He <br /> serves as an advisor for the Elk River Traffic Safety group, which <br /> won the state "Award of Excellence" for traffic safety their first <br /> le year of participation. He was instrumental in establishing a <br /> Jaycee's group in Elk River in November 1982, and was instrumental <br /> in starting an Explorer Post in Elk River. He has been an advisor <br /> for the 24 member law enforcement group. He is involved in giving <br /> talks at the high school to various classes on personal safety, <br /> crime prevention, drivers education and drug and alcohol problems. <br /> He was Co-organizer of the 1982 Sherburne County Cardiac Arrest <br /> Heart Fund raiser and was instrumental to its success, and has <br /> been an organizer for the Cystic Fibrosis Fund raiser for the past <br /> two years. Officer Petermann is a Boy Scout and Cub Scout Leader, <br /> member of the Elk River Drug and Alcohol team, member of the Sher- <br /> burne Co. Rape Crisis Center, still finding time to be a Mille Lacs <br /> foster parent; and . <br /> WHEREAS, Because of Robert Petermann's outstanding services of a Police Officer, <br /> and in his community, he was selected as a Police Officer of the Year <br /> for calendar year 1982, Honorable Mention; .and, <br /> WHEREAS, Selection as Police Officer of the Year, Honorable Mention, is a <br /> significant achievement by a Police Officer granted only for the <br /> highest quality of service and dedication to a city. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River that <br /> Robert Petermann's selection as Police Officer of the Year, Honorable <br /> Mention, for 1982, is hereby recognized as an outstanding achievement <br /> which reflects positively on the City of Elk River, as well as, upon <br /> Robert Petermann; and, <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River that the <br /> City Council recognizes and appreciates the efforts and actions of <br /> Robert Petermann, and that the City Council is extremely proud and <br /> pleased to have a Police Officer of this high caliber and quality <br /> working within the Elk River Police Department. <br /> Passed and adopted this 18th day of April, 1983. <br /> , /. „i. °�>r' ''t <br /> Richard Hinkle, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> III ,:.t7 , . <br /> ua.,----6'..--.pc'C_, ^—r <br /> 1 Robert C.
