RESOLUTION 82-14 <br /> A RESOLUTION REQUESTING SPEED ZONE STUDIES <br /> WHEREAS, M.S. 169.14 requires the Commissioner of Highways to conduct an engineering <br /> and traffic investigation in order to authorize the erection of appropriate <br /> signs designating a reasonable and safe speed; and, <br /> WHEREAS, The Sherburne County Board has requested the Commissioner of Highways to <br /> conduct a speed study on a portion of County Road #44, beginning at the <br /> former City limits of the City of Elk River prior to consolidation with <br /> Elk River Township and ending at the intersection of County Road #44 and <br /> County Road #35 in a resolution dated July 7, 1982; and, <br /> WHEREAS, The Sherburne County Attorney has advised the County Board that the City <br /> of Elk River should concur in the request to the Commissioner of Highways <br /> for a speed study. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River that the <br /> City of Elk River concurs with the County Board's action taken on July 7, <br /> 1982, as it relates to a speed study on a portion of County Road #44, pre- <br /> viously described; and, <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Elk River respectfully <br /> requests the Sherburne County Board to adopt Resolutions requesting the <br /> Commissioner of Highways to conduct the necessary engineering and traffic <br /> investigations to authorize the erection of appropriate signs to designate <br /> reasonable and safe speeds on the following County roads: <br /> 1. County Road #1 from its intersection at Proctor Avenue to its intersec- <br /> tion with the Burlington Northern Railroad line running from Elk River to <br /> Princeton. <br /> 2.
