Elk River
Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING
TO: FROM:
Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission Eric Volk-Water Superintendent
John Dietz—Chair
Al Nadeau—Vice Chair
Daryl Thompson—Trustee
MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER:
May 12, 2015 5.4
SUBJECT:
ERMU Field Services Facilities Study
BACKGROUND:
In the 2015 annual budget, the amount of$200,000 was approved for facilities improvements at
the field services building. At the direction of the utilities commission, we started to look for
ways to secure our property and move all of our equipment indoors. The first two steps we need
to look at are building a driveway for our neighbors to the east, and what facilities we will need
to satisfy our storage requirements.
DISCUSSION:
We have started seeking proposals from architects for a space needs study. The study will help
us to decide what we will need in the future. Once the study is complete we'll have the
information to help determine the steps we'll want to take.
After we come to an agreement, we will have the property to the east surveyed and plans
developed for installing the new driveway. We have already discussed our plans with the City of
Elk River's Environmental Technician, and she is willing to work with us so we stay compliant
with the wetland restrictions.
ACTION REQUESTED:
None
rOWEDED DY
Page 1 of 1 NATURE
Reliable Public
Power Provider P O W E R E D T o S E R V E
77
