Topics discussed at the October meeting included: <br /> • The recently completed Historic Context Study <br /> • Written History Project <br /> • Funding for the HPC <br /> • Review of the HPC recommendations for areas of historic significance in the <br /> downtown area and possible overly district <br /> A representative from the HPC will present the attached HPC recommendations at the joint <br /> meeting with the HRA. <br /> The HRA and City Council has identified the primary goal of the downtown revitalization <br /> project to assure the long-term viability of downtown by making a connection to the rest of <br /> the community and by utilizing the riverfront location. Redevelopment will enhance <br /> • downtown Elk River's role as a residential,retail and commercial area and also revitalize <br /> investment in the downtown business district. <br />
