Please see the attached "Next Steps"guide.
5.4 GreenStep Cities Step 4
Step 4 is rolling out this month as a pilot test. Elk River was selected as a pilot city. The goal
is to achieve Step 4 by the LMC Conference in June 2015. Step 4 includes measurements of
various topics and differs from the previous steps.
5.5 Efficient Fuel Vehicles Update
The Fleet Committee has prepared to include a Plug-In Hybrid Ford Fusion in the 2016
budget for use as a City Hall pool vehicle. The Fusion gets 40-44 combined mpg using the 4-
cylinder gasoline engine and electric mode. It is able to travel in all-electric mode up to 85
mph and lasts for about 20 miles, well under the typical usage for a pool vehicle on any given
day.The Fusion is a 110V or 240V so it can be plugged into the wall at the office and
doesn't need a special charging station. It is priced in the high teens,low$20 thousands and
is compatible to the Chevy Impala which the city has traditionally purchased.
Ire 1T
N\DepartmentACommunity De‘elopment\ nvinonmental\1 F.nergy City\Agendas - Poe kets Memos - NATURE
Minutes\2015\ 4 1 5-15\Memo Init,rmatton 4-15-I 5.docx
