9 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 79-3 l <br /> RESOLUTION REQUESTING PARTICIPATION BY <br /> WRIGHT COUNTY IN APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL HIGHWAY <br /> BRIDGE REPLACEMENT AND REHABILITATION FUNDS <br /> 6 <br /> WHEREAS, The old highway 101 bridge across the Mississippi River has <br /> deteriorated to such a point that its usefulness is limited <br /> and safety hazards are posed by the structure, and; <br /> WHEREAS, The Elk River City Council has determined that the old <br /> highway 101 bridge across the Mississippi River should be <br /> replaced, and; <br /> WHEREAS, Federal Highway Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation Funds <br /> will be available in calender year 1979, and; <br /> WHEREAS, A combination of federal and state funding will pay for <br /> 100% of the replacement cost of the old highway 101 bridge <br /> across the Mississippi River, with the exception of demolition, <br /> approach and engineering costs, and; <br /> WHEREAS, Bridge is jointly owned by the City of Elk River and Wright <br /> County and, as such, participation of both governmental <br /> entities is required to be eligible for federal funding. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Elk River City Council that the <br /> Wright County Board is hereby requested to participate in an <br /> application for Federal Highway Bridge Replacement and <br /> • Rehabilitation Funds for the replacement of the old highway <br /> 101 bridge across the Mississippi River. <br /> Adopted this 19th day of March 1979. <br /> r"- --,;(//:#/1)7 `- ____oz..e.i____,(-,(,, <br /> F nklin Madsen, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> �.�. <br /> Robert C.
