TO: PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION
lk •
River FROM: PHIL HALS, STREET/PARK SUPT.
DATE: JANUARY 28, 1993
SUBJECT: AGENDA MEMO
As you will notice from reading the agenda, there are a number
of issues that have been carried over from the December and
January meetings . These items should receive action from the
Commission (in the form of recommendations to the City Council)
at this meeting so that the projects in question may move
forward.
The discussion on snowmobile trails has been dropped from the
agenda since staff has had no contact with anyone from the
Snowmobile Association since December.
The discussion on the baseball complex has also been dropped
from the February agenda because Mike Hanlon has reconvened the
District 728 Athletic Facilities Committee for a meeting on
February 3, 1993, and it seems appropriate to wait for a
• recommendation from that Committee before the issue comes back
to the Park and Recreation Commission.
5 . Election of Officers
This is a normal consideration for the first meeting of
the year and should be accomplished as soon as possible.
6 . Elk Park Center Commercial Development
Elk Park Center is moving forward and it is important to
get Park and Recreation Commission recommendations before
the Planning Commission public hearing on 2/23/93. This
is a large commercial development with many complex
issues . The most current plans will be available at the
2/3/93 Park and Recreation Commission meeting.
7 . Moldenhauer Plat
Ery Moldenhauer has had one meeting with the staff
regarding his proposed plat for the area south of County
Road 30 between Boston and Fresno Streets. Mr.
Moldenhauer is proposing Phase I of a rather large urban
type residential area. Park and Recreation Commission
input will be valuable at this early stage of development.
8 .
