-`/ A.
4:1 uyoITEM 5.
lRiver
TO: PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION
FROM: PAT KLAERS, CITY ADMINIS, GOR
DATE: DECEMBER 29, 1992
SUBJECT: SNOWMOBILE TRAILS DISCUSSION
At the November Park & Recreation Commission meeting, Jeff
Hribar, from the Zimmerman Snowmobile Club and the Sherburne
County Snowmobile Association, was present to discuss possible
snowmobile trails in Elk River. The focus of this November
discussion was the need to have a trail designated along the
old railroad bed north of County Road 33. An issue related to
this proposed trail location was its effect on homeowners along
the railroad bed in the Greenhead Additions. The Commission
also wondered how the snowmobilers would get to the edge of the
City limits once they got off the railroad trail at the County
Road 33 intersection. Additionally, Jeff indicated that he
still needed permission from the Landfill before this trail
location could be finalized.
• Jeff indicated that he would return to a future Park &
Recreation Commission meeting to update everyone on whether or
not permission from the Landfill has been obtained. Jeff did
not attend the December meeting, so no action by the Commission
on the trail request took place. Hopefully Jeff will be
present at this January meeting to update the Commission on the
status of the proposed snowmobile trail along the railroad bed
north of County Road 33.
•
720 Dodge Avenue N.W., Elk River, Minnesota 55330 (612) 441-7420
