AK
(
ITEM 6.c.
,t' MEMORANDUM
It
y of ,, .
11C' River TO:
Park and Recreation Commission
FROM: Steven Ach, City Planner
DATE: July 10, 1996
SUBJECT: Preliminary Plat Request by Country
Ridge Partnership, Country Crossings
3rd Addition
Background
The Park and Recreation Commission had reviewed a preliminary plat for
the subject property at a previous meeting. Since that time, the developer
has made revisions to the design of the plat, which included reconfiguring
the proposed park. This plat was recently reviewed by the Planning
Commission at their regular June 25th meeting. The Planning Commission
discussed the possible need for trail corridors extending west from Kent
Street to Macon Street at both the northwest and southwest corners of the
0 plat. The developer also suggested considering a more centralized connection
that may take place immediately west of 179 1/2 Circle. If the Commission
recommends one trail connection, staff would suggest a corridor be provided
from Macon Street extending easterly to Kent, which aligns with the
proposed park corridor directly east of Kent Street. This could provide a
centralized connection point from Macon Street directly to the park.
Attached for the Park and Recreation Commission's information is both the
original plat that was submitted and the most recent plat that was presented
to the Planning Commission on June 25, 1996.
Recommendation
The Park and Recreation Commission is asked to consider the proposed park
land as part of the Country Crossings 3rd Addition proposed preliminary
plat.
s:\council\park&rec\pp ctryri.doc
•
13065 Orono Parkway • P.O.
