( 1
City of MEMORANDUM
1kjjvr TO: Tom Zerwas, Police Chief
FROM: Phil Hals, Street/Park Supt.
DATE: May 2, 1996
SUBJECT: Patrols in Parks
With the warm weather comes the increase of vandalism in the parks. I
would like to request daily visits by your officers in Woodland Trails Park,
Lion's Park, and Orono Park.
Woodland Trails experiences a lot of activity near the telephone in the
parking lot after school and later in the evening.
Lion's Park bandshell serves as a shelter for underage smokers just before
and just after school each day.
• The Orono beach area will be a hang out as soon as warm weather arrives.
Having police visits frequently is an excellent deterrent for the "hang out"
crowd.
Thanks for your cooperation.
•
13065 Orono Parkway • P.O.
