MEMORANDUM ty of � TO: Park and Recreation Commission 1k River FROM: Stephen Rohlf, Building and Zoning Administrator DATE: March 5, 1996 J g- SUBJECT: Staffs Recommended Changes to the Master Park Plan The City Council will be considering the updated Master Park Plan at a special meeting to be held at City Hall on Tuesday, March 12th. The meeting is proposed to start at 7:00 PM, however, the Comprehensive Transportation Plan is first on the agenda. Chances are the Park Plan will not be heard until around 9:00 PM. Staff encourages all the Park and Recreation Commissioners to attend. Staff is recommending the following changes to the plan from what the Park • and Recreation Commission approved: 1. Map C-1.1 titled, "Neighborhood Park Service Areas" (page 79), has been adjusted to reflect the newly defined urban service area as per the Park and Recreation Commission. However, maps C-1.2 (Proposed Park Plan - page 96) and E-1.1 (Comprehensive Park Plan - page 107) did not get changed to reflect the new neighborhood parks proposed on the lands added to the urban service district. Staff is recommending these maps also be revised. 2. Staff is recommending additional trails on lands added to the urban service district in the locations shown on the attached map. These additional trails would be added to maps D-1.1 (Trail and Parkway Plan - page 100) and E-1.1 (Comprehensive Park Plan - page 107). 3. Lastly, staff is recommending the following paragraph be added to the "Proposed Trail System" section of the plan (page 107): "The proposed trails in this plan are shown in their preferred locations as much as possible.
