AK. ) 4'.
MEMORANDUM
( /
lkt River ity ot f TO: Park and Recreation Commission
FROM: Phil Hals, Street/Park Supt.
DATE: January 17, 1996
SUBJECT: Staff Updates
(Lion's Park Playground Equipment
Installation)
The Park and Recreation Commission instructed staff to work with the Lion's
Club to ensure that the playground equipment they are having installed in
Lion's Park is placed on a firm foundation.
On Wednesday, January 10, I met with Harold Gramstad of the Lion's Club,
Jerry Ripilius, a playground equipment installer, and Mark Thompson of my
staff. We discussed options for providing a stable footing for the playground
III equipment.
Many thoughts and questions were raised, but I don't believe that there is a
plan at this time.
Mr. Gramstad is going to research some of the suggestions with
representatives of Landscape Structures. The present playground equipment
fails to meet safety inspections and will be removed by the city as soon as
possible. The new equipment will be located in that site.
I will update the Park and Recreation Commission on any further
developments.
ID
13065 Orono Parkway • P.O.
